World Book Day 2018

We finally enjoyed our World Book Day 2018 assembly this morning. Again this year, we were really impressed with how much effort had gone into the costumes. Mrs Morsey was particularly impressed with the wide range of books chosen – everything from classics to picture books, fiction and non-fiction, comics and graphic novels. We believe this shows how adventurous our children are in their reading choices. This is because World book Day is not the only day that we celebrate books. Our children are encouraged to read widely for pleasure, finding new authors and illustrators to enjoy.

Every child was given a £1 book token, which can be swapped for one of the official World Book Day books, or can be put towards a different book of a higher price. Please do use the tokens! You can find out more about the £1 books on the World Book Day website.

Thanks to Temi and Joyce in Year 6 we are able to share some of the amazing costumes our children have worn to bring to life their favourite book characters.
