Get help to buy food and milk - Healthy Start Scheme
- Applications can now be made on line using the following link How to apply – Get help to buy food and milk (Healthy Start). Applicants who are eligible will need their National Insurance number to apply for this scheme.
- Previous paper vouchers are being replaced by a store card which will be topped up automatically every four weeks. They are accepted at any food store which accepts Mastercard Chip and Pin or contactless payments.
- All new applicants will be issued with a store card. All existing beneficiaries are currently being contacted by post or by phone to inform them make an online application for the new card. All store cards will be issued with a PIN which will need to be activated, the instruction on how to activate the pin will be included in the letter.
No Recourse to Public Funds families
NRPF families who meet the same eligibility criteria and who has a child who is a British Citizen are now able to make a claim. NRPF families who believe they are now entitled to Healthy Start vouchers must send an email to Healthystartclaim@dhsc.gov.uk to request an application.
