Poetry in motion…
At St Peter’s Primary School Walworth this week, our year six pupils hosted a special performance for the parents.
The performance was based on the poem “The Highwayman”, written by Alfred Noyes.
“The Highwayman” by Alfred Noyes is a classic poem that tells a good story with powerful imagery and a rhythmic cadence reminiscent of horses’ hooves. The story tells of the highwayman’s visit to see the beautiful Bess at the old inn and of the terrible fate they both meet.
